Terms of service

1. Agreement to terms

These Terms of Service ("terms") govern your access to and use of Socialgator, a platform for creating shoppable video widgets. By creating an account you agree to be bound by these terms. If you use the service on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind that company.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate registration details and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account, including activity by teammates you invite.

You must be at least 16 years old to use the service.

3. The service

Socialgator lets you add videos by link (currently TikTok), tag products to them and embed widgets on websites you control. Features and limits depend on your plan; current limits are shown on our pricing page.

We may add, change or remove features, but will not materially reduce the core functionality of a paid plan during an active billing period.

4. Your content & acceptable use

You retain ownership of videos, product data and other content you submit. You grant us a limited licence to host, process and display that content solely to operate the service for you.

You confirm you own or have licensed the rights to any video you add. Do not add content you have no right to use commercially.

You must not: use the service for unlawful or misleading advertising; embed widgets on sites promoting hate, adult content, malware or scams; scrape or resell the service; interfere with its operation or circumvent plan limits.

5. Plans, billing & cancellation

Paid plans renew monthly via Stripe until cancelled. Prices are shown in GBP and may change with at least 30 days’ notice.

You can cancel any time from the billing page; cancellation stops future charges and your account moves to the free tier at the end of the current period. Partial periods are not refunded unless required by law.

If a payment fails we may suspend paid features after retries and notice.

6. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, create legal risk for us or other users, or remain unpaid after notices. Where practical we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix the issue.

You may delete your account at any time; sections 4 (licence), 5 (accrued fees) and 8-10 survive termination.

7. Intellectual property

All Socialgator software, branding and design remain our property. Nothing in these terms transfers rights in the service to you beyond the licence needed to use it.

8. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and third-party platforms (such as TikTok) may change their services in ways that affect video downloads or playback.

We are not responsible for the products you promote, the accuracy of product information you enter, or disputes between you and your customers.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising from or relating to the service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, special or consequential damages, including lost profits or revenue.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. General

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

If a provision is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in force. We may update these terms with 14 days’ notice; continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
